Boulevard Mansion Hotel ★★★ $45 avg/night
1440 Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Boulevard Mansion Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Ermita as it is very guest friendly and a great location too, just minutes from the Manila Bay Cafe, formerly known as the L.A. Cafe which is the biggest venue for Phillipino freelancers and is open twenty-four hours a day. The studios at the hotel are budget apartments but extremely well equipped with a kitchenette that includes cooking wares dining crockery and cutlery, a small dining area, a corner sofa, a TV with a great selection of English channels, free WiFi which is fast and always works really well and comfortable beds. The rooms are old and a little tired in appearance but there is a certain charm that has me coming back again and again. Dependent on where your room is located you will be able to see the girls from L.A. Cafe on the second floor up!
Guest Friendly policy reply by The Boulevard Mansion Hotel: “No problems. Room is for single and double occupancy only. We charge only for a third person. Best regards, Gen.”
Royal Bellagio Hotel ★★★ $52 avg/night
5010 P. Burgos Street, Poblacion, Makati, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Royal Bellagio Hotel is set right in the middle of Burgos Street (Manila’s red light district) and for action look no further! The room was compact and best suited to a solo traveler, everything was clean and tidy and the room offered a comfortable bed, mini bar, and TV with a good selection of channels. No in-room safe but everything else that you would expect. The staff is very helpful. For the location, this hotel cannot be better. TIP: Try to get a room higher up to avoid street noise.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The Royal Bellagio Hotel “Sir all rooms are good for 2 persons regarding visitor policy sir it’s up to you if you want to register here or not for unregistered guests we have to call you every time visitor will leave the room, and she must bring a valid id and register on our VISITORS LOGBOOK.”
Makati Palace Hotel ★★★ $53 avg/night
5011 P. Burgos Corner Canceres Sts, Makati, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Makati Palace Hotel could not be better located just on the corner of Burgos street and the girl’s bars, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. The room I had was spacious with amazing views over Manila, the king-size bed was very comfortable and I found that I slept really well despite the heavy traffic noise. The mini bar was extremely expensive however there is the added bonus of a 7-eleven on the corner so you can get everything you might want there at a fraction of the price. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for cheap accommodation, in a prime location.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The Makati Palace Hotel: “Thank you for your interest in staying in our hotel. We are the friendliest hotel in Makati, that’s why we are allowing joiners to stay with the guest overnight without any charge except that we would be asking for valid identification and need to register for our guest safety. We are looking forward to welcoming you and your guest! Thank you. Best Regards, Shiela.”

Best Western Oxford Suites Makati ★★★ $57 avg/night
Durban corner P Burgos Streets, Makati, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Oxford Suites set in the center of Makati nightlife is definitely not for families as it is on the corner of Burgos Street with its go-go bars and all the other goings on. The room was clean and spacious with generally good furnishings, TV air conditioning, and a nice bathroom. The staff was very friendly and the food was simply amazing.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The Best Western Oxford Suites Makati: “Please be advised that we do allow unregistered visitors to stay overnight in the room without additional joiner’s fee. A valid ID has to be left at the security desk. Celyn Manasan. Reservations Officer.”
Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences ★★★★ $105 avg/night
119 LP Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences are just a short walk from Greenbelt and its lovely safe, green neighborhood. Taxis are not needed to get around Makati from here as everything is within reach. The rooms and bathrooms are fully equipped with everything you could need and finished to the highest standards, the in-room WiFi connection was brilliant. Very modern, clean and comfortable there is nothing more you could want.

New World Manila Bay Hotel ★★★★★ $120 avg/night
1588 Pedro Gil cor M.H. Del Pilar, Malate, Manila, Philippines
Location: The Hyatt is one of the newest in its category, and this is shown in the building and amenities. The rooms here are big and spacious, spotlessly clean with extra comfortable beds and all amenities you can need. The hotel also provides a bar, restaurant, fitness center, outdoor pool, and spa. This plus the location is right in the heart of all the action in Malate/Ermita, an ideal place to stay.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The New World Manila Bay Hotel: “We do not have additional charges for any additional guests you may want to bring to your room. In case of additional breakfast or use of the hotel facilities, additional charges may apply.”
New World Makati City ★★★★★ $142 avg/night
Esperanza Street corner Makati Avenue, Ayala Center, Makati, Manila, Philippines
Location: The New World Makati City is just next to Greenbelt in the Makati district in a very secure area where you can be sure not to get bothered. The hotel was perfect from the super comfortable beds to the softest of pillows and everything you could possibly need to be provided in the room. Great views over the business district from the room. The hotel also offers a great swimming pool and a number of bars and restaurants to choose from as the added extra spa services. The only disappointment was that there was no WiFi or internet connection and the bath was a little small to use if you are quite tall but this wasn’t really a worry. Lovely stay close to the action.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The New World Makati Hotel: “Regarding your inquiry, we are pleased to inform you that our hotel is guest-friendly. Our published rates are for one or two occupants so the rates would not vary unless you would request an additional third adult. For the third person, the fee is Php 1000 and Php 1500 if it is with breakfast. Best regards. Mae Barrameda. Reservations Department.”
Peninsula Hotel Manila ★★★★★ $194 avg/night

Location: The Manila Peninsula is in the modern central district of Manila, and is a top-class hotel that is run very efficiently. The rooms are large and attractively decorated with everything you could need to make your stay perfect. The beds are so comfortable that you sink into them and are guaranteed a good night’s sleep. Spotlessly clean with everything working as one would expect in a five-star hotel. The service is as expected in a five-star hotel and the highlight is breakfast which is simply outstanding, and a lovely way to wake up.
Guest Friendly policy reply by The Peninsula Manila: “Please be advised that the hotel does not charge a joiner fee as long as it will only be for overnight (excluding breakfast) and the name of the joiner will be registered by the Front Desk. Best regards, Bianca Jimenez, Reservations Agent.”

Thanks for the great information you posted. I am curious about getting off the beaten path in the Philippines. In particular, if I travel alone to cities like Catbalogan, Samar Province or Tacloban, Leyte, will hotels there be guest friendly?
I will probably go to these places after spending time getting to know a girl online. So if I go there, I would ideally like to spend time with the girl I have been talking to. But sometimes you meet in person, and it doesn’t work out. If that happens and I am already booked for a couple of days, I may as well try and make the most of it and meet somebody there.
BTW, 48 years old, decent shape, looking for something mutually beneficial, and definitely don’t want any trouble. I just want my companionship packaged a little differently than what you get on Fields Ave, so I am willing to go a little further and deal with those challenges.
