Hard to beat for this value! But The Forest Patong Hotel is not for those that wish to be in amongst the action or close to the beach. The economy rooms although well priced are rather compact and with all of the furnishings they can feel a little closed in as there is no balcony or window. The hotel also has a pool area with deep (2.7m) swimming pool which made a nice place to sit and rest. The only drawback for me here was that there was no free WiFi.

The room was of a good size offering king sized bed, air conditioning, refridgerator, cable TV and DVD player, in room safe and free WiFi. The hotel hosts a large DVD collection which are free for the guests to borrow which was a lovely touch. Very pleasant place to stay for relatively cheap price.

High value for money hotel highly recommend in Karon.

The hotel is not really what you would expect from the name boutique as it is far from 5 stars, however it does offer decent size rooms that are clean if overall very basic. A nice place to try.

Not the most spectacular but dependent on season the price of the accomodation varies from 500 to 1000 THB (approx. 25$) and represents good value for money.

Location : The Baan Karon resort is found just 15 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms are spacious and all equipped with air conditioning, TV, mini bar, and free WiFi. The standard rooms however are a little dated so for the extra 5 – 7$ the superior rooms are the ones to choose. The hotel also has a super swimming pool with bar, ideal for relaxing. Reasonable hotel whilst not the most luxuriant I had no complaints.

Location : The Bamboo House Phuket Hotel is positioned in the middle of the center of Karon. With a large variety of restaurants and bars on the doorstep and the beach easily accessed within a few minutes on foot, there is plenty to do. The rooms was very comfortable with modern designed and decoration and offer Japenese style low beds, but the biggest surprise had to be the Apple Mac mini that was installed and connected to the flat screen TV with free internet access for use during the stay. WiFi is also available if you have your own device. Great hotel with super additional facilities.

The complex also offers two lovely swimming pools, one overlooking the town and one the sea. Bars and restaurants just 2-3 minutes walk away.

Location : The Southern Fried Rice Guesthouse is found in a quiet side street about 5 minutes walk from Kata beach, with Karon Beach a further 10 minutes on foot and Kata Noi further south roughly 30 minutes away. The guesthouse comprises of just eight rooms which are roomy and extremely well lit thanks to the large windows, offering comfortable bed, fully working air conditioning, TV that has a selection of English channels, mini bar, in room safe and excellent WiFi connection. The bathroom was of good standard with proper water pressure. The staff and owner make everyone welcome and they are more than happy to supply guidance with good deals on taxi, tours and ferry transfers. All this and a quality free continental breakfast, what more could you possibly want?

Location : The Manohra Cozy Village is hidden away in a quiet back street to the northern area of Kata, with both Karon and Kata beach just a 10 minute walk away. This small resort with just 12 rooms offers excellent standard and superior rooms with both being clean and spacious. Recently renovated they have comfortable beds, flat screen TV’s, air conditioning units, mini bar, safety deposit boxes and WiFi. The superior rooms are bigger and situated on the poolside of the resort. Highly receommend especially as it recently was chosen as TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2013 for the Top 25 Bargain Hotels in Thailand.

Quiet location recommanded with the use of rental motorbike.

Location : The Honey Resort is a lovely hotel tucked away in a tranquil area just 5 – 10 minutes walk from the center or Kata beach. Room are modern, clean and well furnished offering comfortable bed, well presented bathroom, efficient air conditioning, plenty of storage space for clothes, and 70+ channels on a super flat screen TV. Quite unique in design as the hotel swimming pool at about 2 meters wide but spans the entire length of the front of the hotel. The only disappointment was no free Wifi in the room and this will cost you approximately 200 THB daily or 600 TBH for the week, however you can access for free in the lobby area.

Situated in a very modern area of Kata the resort is encircled by new buildings. The rooms are a good size, clean and confortable with air conditioning, flatscreen TV, in room safe lovely shower facilities and balcony. The service is extremely good with daily linen change, free breakfast and a good sized pool area. The only downside is the charge of 100 baht daily for WiFi. All in all a clean and quiet place to stay.

Location : The BluEco Hotel is situated just 10 minutes walk from Kata beach or a 15 minute walk to Karon beach. The rooms are all newly furnished, modern and spacious. The bathroom is a little smaller than ideal but there was an abundance of hot water whenever a shower was needed. The only criticism would be that there was no WiFi available in the room and it could only be used in the lobby. Not luxury but for a 3 star resort it is jolly good value for money I will recommand.

Location : The Casa E Mare hotel is a new contempory hotel situated on the Southend end of Kata about 10 – 15 minutes on foot from both Kata and Kata Noi beaches. Rooms are big, pretty and modern and come with large comfortable beds, TV, air conditioning, refridgerator, in room safe and free WiFi. The bathroom is of proper western style, not only a wet room but had a proper seperate enclosed shower. Great balcony to sit and take in the sites. Considering the location and the 1000 – 1500 THB price range, this hotel offers a good value for money and would have no hesitation in recommand it to all.

The spacious bathroom boasts a big walk in shooter. Along with the private balcony that had a table and two chairs this is the ideal spot to relax after a hard day.

Nothing special but clean, cheap and reasonably well located.

Location : The Kata Lucky Villas are not the cheapest accommodation available in the Kata area but the rooms and their direct pool access is a real bonus. The location is also good with a short 5 minute walk from Kata Noi beach along a road which offers some lovely restaurants and bars along the way. The rooms was super, very modern and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and solid furnishings. The only real drawback is that there was no free WiFi which when considering the cost was disappointing, WiFi vouchers can be purchased from reception though for 50 THB per hour.

They include all the main admenties: TV with a good selection of channels, air conditioning that was a little noisy in my room, refridgerator, safety deposit box and exceptionally fast free WiFi. Although there is no pool this accomodation is very good value for money considering the location.

The rooms are huge and of an exceptionally high standard and for the additional 50$ you can take a suite which is an enormous 145 square meters and has seperate fully fitted kitchen, dining room, living room, spacious bedroom with large bed, TV and desk and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi. No detail has been forgotten and this makes for a most excellent stay.

Although not the cheapest place to stay it is highly recommended for the fabulous atmosphere.
